MINUTES
Present:
Mike Dodson (President), Don Rainey (Past Pres.),

Call to Order:
Mike Dodson called the meeting to order at 8:00 am at the 9th St Grille.
Approval of Minutes:
Minutes from April approved Minutes from the May meeting in Chelan not
available.
Treasurer’s Report:
Attached is the updated financials as reported by Bruce Holliday as of 5/28/07.
Current assets; $13,399.76
2007 total income $7,757.79
Secretary’s Report:
New registrations are still coming in. Jim sent out a reminder to unpaid
members. I have received around 16 messages from members that said they will
register in reply to my registration reminder.
Old Business:
1)
Education committee:
The June 13th all day forum notice has been printed and sent out. The location
will be at Providence Everett on Pacific Ave. The food will be catered in-house
and Turner Construction will sponsor the food in the amount of $1,000. Tim has
Mike Sweeney of Turner as the speaker for Parametric CAD topic. Dr Gary Peterson
of VMMC is the speaker for the Infection Control topic and Russ has enlisted
Dave Swanson and Drew Martin of Reid Middleton to speak on Seismic planning,
preparedness, and recovery. Four $50 door prizes will be given away.
The GLY construction tour of Overlake Hospital tour is being tentatively set up
for July 11. Charlie Hafenbrack will take 20 members on a tour of the new South
Tower. RSVPs are necessary.
The May 16, Proctor Sales’ steam trap demonstration and educational program at
Fred Hutch was attended by 55 people. There was three different 4 hour sessions
to allow more people to attend. Costs were $854 for catering and parking. $400
was given by Gary Dietz of International Water Treatment to help offset the
expenses. The Proctor Sales Presentation was done free of charge for the
members.
The next educational meeting will be scheduled for October 10. The tentative
topic is best practices for winter time maintenance and O&Ms specific to
healthcare.
2) Golf Tourney update:
The tournament will be held August 28 at Washington National Golf Course. Jim
Fry will sign the contract and let Jim Mead know if a deposit will be needed.
The golf committee consists of Mark Howell, Jim Fry, Myra Gudge, Gary Welch, and
Jody Runge.
Myra has requested that Eventbright be used to coordinate the golf tournament
and to allow members to go to this website to register for the different types
of packages that will be available. There is a 1-2% fee, eliminates credit card
processing, dues registration, coordinate educational meetings and other
functions.
MOTION: Passed 4-0
The board approved unanimously to allow the rental of a PO Box for the Chapter
and the rental of a Storage unit. Jim Mead will look into the storage unit and
Myra will investigate renting a private mail box at the same location they use.
MOTION: passed 4-0.
New Business:
1) Guest Bill Preisler is the Construction and Safety Director at
Swedish Hospital, Cherry Hill. That org. has HRSA money to use and has contacted
Andy Streifel of the Univ. of Minnesota, arguably the authority on infection
control in healthcare environments. He has offered WSSHE the opportunity to
co-sponsor the event with APIC that will be held in February. Topics will be on
the EOC during disasters, water and mold issues. The seminar will be day-long
and 150 people are expected. Bill will contact Andy to arrange the date.
Next Meeting:
July 6, 2007. The meeting will be held at the 9th St Grille at 8am.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10 am.
